Motocyclist accuses Tour du Rwanda winner, drunk Mugisha of beating him

Tour du Rwanda 2018 edition winner, Mugisha Samuel is accused of beating a motorcyclist, one Sangwa Olivier, 29, over transport charges misunderstanding.

Sangwa Olivier alleges, the drunk Mugisha was last night supposed to pay 1,000 Rwf as agreed by both parties. However, during the journey, he changed his mind and did not want to pay after deciding to cut it halfway.

” Mugisha was appeared to be already drunk wanted me to transport from Gakinjiro to Gisozi. Reaching at Gakire house, with his colleague who claim to afande, Muyoboke Ezechiel, changed their minds. They said they did not want to pay or we only get 600RWF, that’s when we started to quarrel. At the end they agreed to pay but Muyoboke followed me and started beating me up” painfully Motorcylist said

” They beat me up to the extent I went to the hospital with my right eye unable to see. Before that Police came and took them to Gisozi Police station due to what they did to me. Doctor told me to go for a medical check-up for now I am facing broken ribs, swollen head and some blood from eyes and I am not walking properly due to broken leg.” He added

Sangwa claims one driving helmet, Yego Cab meter, 300rwf lost durint th scuffle, while another helmet damaged by Mugisha who used it to hit him in the head. He said he want both Mugisha and Muyoboke to be brought to book.

The effort for this newspaper to get comment from the accused and police was futile. We are still working on it.
