Rwandan Security forces has on Friday night in Rubavu border area, shot dead a yet to be identified Congolese soldier, who allegedly crossed to Rwandan territory shooting security forces.
Residents of Gasutamo village said” We heard gunshots noise but we didn’t know what was happening. In the morning we were told it’s the Congolese soldier who was shot ”
Rwandan security organs are on the scene to investigate the matter.
The shooting comes following deteriorated relations between Kigali and Kinshasa. The former is accused of backing M23 rebels that have been fighting fiercely Congolese national army.
The latter, vehemently denies these accusations while accusing Kinshasa of lying under the same bed with FDLR rebels.
The shot Congolese soldier is the second one following the one shot in late September this year.
