The court in Rubavu District has again adjourned the case whereby US based Rwandan, Virginie Kanyabutembo, accuses Rugamba Xavier, once her husband of registering her properties under his name illegaly, due to the absence of the lawyer to the latter.
Xavier Rugamba’s lawyer called it quit on March 3, hence the case was adjourned on March 16.
Kanyabutembo accuses Rugamba Xavier of registering her house and a plot of land with UPI:3/03/04/04/1497 under his names and later selling them through auction.
The Court of Appeal has on March 2, fine lawyer Francis Nzayisenga 200,000Rwf for not being available during the hearing.
The defendant was alone in court citing his lawyer was involved in a nasty accident and his phone was stolen, which lead to the failure to call him to confirm his status.
Kanyabutembo’s lawyer confirmed to the court that via the system, they have learnt that Nzayisenga has excused himself from the case.
The court has decided to adjourn the case for Rugamba Xavier went through surgery on March 9 and he will be dicharged on March 23, 2022.
The case hearing will be resumed on March 28 this year.
