Only 4 pct of Rwandans wash hands

Ninety-six Rwandans out of 100 do not wash their hands ahead of doing things like breast feeding, going to their works and even after bathroom, the study has revealed

It was revealed on November, 19 while celebrating International Day for washing hands in Rusizi District.

Muvunyi Zubeli, Official in Charge of Treatment activities in Rwandan Health Minisitry said, washing hands practice is still at low level amongst Rwandans.

Sanitary and hygiene experts say having washing hands and well use of bathroom prevent diseases and achieve hygiene at 40 percent.

Meanwhile, locals say luck of water, poverty and other factors play a big role in the low level of hand washing.
