Police in Rubavu District has shot dead one Prince Ishimwe, suspected to be a thief whom with his colleague found trying to rob a yet to be identied resident.
Western Region Police Spokesperson, CIP Rukundo Mucyo, told this website that Ishimwe, 18, was shot dead around 1:00 am on Wednesday.
” The thief Ishimwe Prince wanted to fight with security operatives using a knife.” He told BWIZA
He said police officers who were on patrol heard someone asking for a help for he was strangled by two thieves.
Two ran away, Ishimwe went on a house roof trying to fight with police, who shot him dead at the spot.
The body was taken to Gisenyi Hospital mortuary
