Family members of the US based Rwandan woman, Kanyabutembo Virginie, have requested the authorities concerned to arrest, one Me Anselme Uwayezu, a bailiff involved in their case and his partners, accusing him of forgery and perjury in Rubavu Court.

They allege ” This could not be the first time Uwayezu commit these two crimes for he has become notorious in dealing with illegal auctions in Rubavu District as it is the same case with the properties belonging to Kanyabutembo.”

Recently, Court in Rubavu decided to halt the auction of a plot of a land and house that belong to Kanyabutembo. However, Me Uwayezu appealed.

February 25, the court announced the verdict citing Me Uwayezu used forged papers as indicated by its e-system namely IECMS, hence the previous verdict of noting auctioning Kanaybutembo’s properties, still valid.

It was declared that Uwayezu did not pay fees for the case mortgage, he later denied the allegations in court, claiming he paid , yet failed to prove his statement.

Me Twizeyimana, Kanyabutembo lawyer said the ” Your honour, I can say there is no need to give a green light to the appeal. It has no ground and it resurfaced after the case was closed.”

The judge presiding the case, basing on laws, said the the appeal submitted by Me Uwayezu is dismissed.

Following the final verdict, Dada Ferri, Kanyabutembo’s daughter said Me Uwayezu should be investigated for he has brought sufferings to various family. He added ” We thank God, everyone involved in the case and Rwanda president…”

Kanyabutembo told this newspaper that ” I thank President Kagame, a man of integrity, honesty…”
