High Commercial Court in Kigali has slated to announce the verdict of a case on March 9, whereby two Indian nationals; Manish Kumar, the boss of commercial company, UNITED SPIRITS accuses RISHI ARYA and co-accused; bailiff Kagame Festo K. and businessman, Nsengumuremyi Anathole.
Kumar has recently appealed the ruling of Kigali Commercial Court that decided that his goods worth millions were auctioned by RISHI ARYA via bailiff Kagame illegally.
Kumar bought the goods mainly made up of liquor from LAXMI IMPEX, the company that ARYA says it owes him a yet to establish amount of money.
The high court had ruled that the goods that are still in Magerwa were Manish’s.

After the appeal submitted by Manish, the court hearing on March 3, Manish’s lawyer told the court that the circumstances under which the auction of his goods were sold are illegal, hence fronted the request to dismiss the auction.
He told the court that the auctioned goods were assets of UNITED SPIRITS as indicated by the sale agreement seen by this newspaper.
The accused, said the court declared that the ownership of the goods belong to LAXMI IMPEX.
The court told both parties that it will examine if there are some evidences neglected by court, laws regarding the confiscation of goods, compensation and duration regarding the auction.
