Kanyabutembo Virginie, a US based Rwandan woman is seeking justice and President Kagame intervention to save her over what she terms an injustice of grabbing her properties located in Rubavu, done by one Xaver Rugamba, who was once her husband in conspiracy with another woman, Adolphine Bucyana via her son namely Tony Rugamba.
Those who are familiar with the case, narrated to this Newspaper that Rugamba and his team might have bribed some authorities in this case, for they believe, no way their can challenge Kanyabutembo on her properties composed of a house and a plot of land.
” I cannot imagine how that guy came up with the idea to claim the ownership of those properties. She (Kanyabutembo) still now investing in building other houses. She was given that land by government even papers are there! I did not believe this incident could happen.” Said Umwambuga Alice, one of the orphans raised by Kanyabutembo after genocide.
Uwambuga says the real owner of the properties is Kanyabutembo for the land was given to her by government when he came back in Rwanda from refuge.
Kanyabutembo even own papers of the land ownership. It is still unclear how Rugamba got to register the land under his name for he did not appear in the area since early 1990.
Those who know Rugamba testify that he is a drunkard who can’t build a house. This newspaper even possess some of his videos while sleeping in the road due to alcohol.
Some allege, while drunk, Rugamba boasts of leaving his family with nothing in their possession, for on his part ” I am already finished.”
Meanwhile, bribe has become a key factor to suspect as an influence in this matter.
Rugamba Xaver himself recently, told Mbugangari Sector authorities that he is being forced by one, Adolphine Bucyana and Tony Rugamba, his son, to go on in court in effort to take away the house that belong to his wife, Kanyabutembo, aware that it is not his.
Kanyabutembo says Rubavu Court decided to give 50% of ownership of plot of land to Rugamba and she later appealed the decision in Musanze High Court. She says the court ignored the fact that the land was given to her in absentia of Rugamba, who cowardly left the family to marry another one, Bucyana Adolphine.
She says what happened in Musanze High Court was a mere drama for the judge decided to include the houses while Kanyabutembo did not include in the appeal case. Some witnesses were even chased away by the judge, so as they do not testify.
Kanyabutembo’s daughter, Rugamba Ddada Ferri, seeks the intervention of President Kagame to save them from the calamity brought by her father, Rugamba Xaver.
” We want President Kagame to rescue us. We want justice to do their job. We have proof that the land and house is ours.”
The effort to talk to Adolphine Bucyana and Tony Rugamba, accused to be the mastermind of the family havoc by this newspaper was futile by the time of publication.
