President Valdmir putin of Russia has given out a present of a helicopter to his counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe.
Valdimir Putin gifted the president of Zimbabwe a helicopter, Harare said on Thursday 27 july 2023, as the Russian leader courts the backing of African leaders in Saint Petersburg.
Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, is among those attending a two-day Russia-Africa summit that is being scrutinised as a test of Putin’s support in the continent after his invasion of Ukraine.
Zimbabwe’s ministry of information announced that president Putin has given out a helicopter to President Emerson Mnangawa of Zimbabwe.
The videos posted by the ministry on its twitter account shows President running up to the stairs of the blue helicopter.
According to the government spokesperson, Nick Mnangagwa, the helicopter will be soon in the airspace of Zimbabwe.
This Zimbabwe in addition to its president being given the helicopter, is also among the six African countries that Putin has allowed free grain.
Other countries to benefit from the 50,000 tones Putin offered include Bukina Faso, Mali, Somalia, Eritrea and the Central African Republic.
